AARP Kentucky will be at the 135th Fancy Farm Picnic on Aug. 1 asking gubernatorial candidates to explain their plans to improve long-term care and financial security.

The annual event in Graves County has long been a favorite place to kick off campaigns in Kentucky, one of three states that will choose a new governor this year.

“In contrast to today’s digital-driven elections, Fancy Farm introduces candidates to voters face-to-face, with old-fashioned stump speeches and handshaking,” said Ron Bridges, AARP state director.

Join tens of thousands who will be on hand to meet candidates, chow down on barbecued pork and mutton, get moving in a 5K race and enjoy other games and activities.
