OLLI at UK, offering learning opportunities for adults 50 and older, is having its fall meeting and open house in early August.

The program’s motto is “Where Curiosity Never Retires!” and it’s designed to provide lifelong learning through courses, forums, shared interest groups, trips and events.

On Tuesday, Aug. 7, the fall meeting will take place from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with the open house at 10:30-noon at the new UK Student Center, Grand Ballroom (160 Avenue of Champions, Lexington).

At the annual meeting, staff and board members will share reports, discuss finances and expectations for the upcoming 2018-2019 year. There will also be discussion of the results from the OLLI member survey.

Then, at the annual meeting visitors will be able to learn about the learning opportunities the program provides, meet instructors and receive information about how to register. Fall catalogs will be available. Registration begins Aug. 8. Coffee and light refreshments will be available.

OLLI at UK is a membership program with an annual fee of $25. Membership begins in August and includes fall, spring and summer semesters. OLLI courses vary every semester and formats range from weekly classes to one-day intensive sessions.

Don’t let parking at UK intimidate you! Parking for the Aug. 7 event is at Parking Structure #5, just south/attached to the former Kennedy’s Bookstore on Limestone. You may enter from South Limestone or South Upper Street. Park in any unrestricted spot. If you have an ADA accessible permit you may park in the ADA designated spots, since this is a Visitor’s Parking Garage. (Other locations on campus require a UK ADA permit).
You will receive a parking ticket when you pull into the garage – keep this ticket, just in case. At the event, look for OLLI Staff and Volunteers, we will all be wearing our OLLI Lanyards. OLLI Staff & Volunteers will give you a special parking pass at the event registration table. Insert the special pass received from OLLI, it will open the gate, allowing you to exit from the garage without payment.
