The Alzheimer’s Association continues to provide services for caregivers caring for persons with dementia.

To comply with the Kentucky governor’s regulations, rather than meeting in person, caregiver support groups have transitioned to meeting by phone.

Support groups create a safe, confidential, supportive community and a chance for participants to develop mutual support and social relationships.

Also, support groups educate and inform participants about dementia and help participants develop methods and skills to solve problems.

Upcoming caregiver support groups by phone include:

May 6– Fayette County Caregiver Group, 11:30am-12:30pm EST
May 7– Jeffersontown Senior Center Caregiver Group, 10am-11am EST
May 13– Gateway Area Caregiver Group, 12pm-1pm EST
May 20– Scott County Caregiver Group, 12:30pm-1:30pm EST
May 20– Montgomery County Caregiver Group, 6pm-7pm EST
May 25– Nursing Facility Caregiver Support Group for Families Who Have Loved Ones Living in Care Facilities, 10:30am-11:30am EST

You can register for these groups by calling the Alzheimer’s Association’s 24/7 Helpline at 1-800-272-3900.
