AARP is offering its Smart Driver course from noon to 4:30 p.m., June 3 at the Lexington Senior Center at 195 Life Lane, Lexington.

The class is designed to teach those 50 years old and older how to be the best drivers they can be. Instructor Charlotte Mallory will provide the classroom training on evidence-based strategies to keep you safe behind the wheel.

The AARP Smart Driver course is the nation’s first refresher course specifically designed for drivers age 50 and older. In many states, drivers may benefit from a discount on their auto insurance premium upon completing the course.

And you will learn something new along the way.

In fact, an evaluation of the course found that 97 percent of participants changed at least one driving habit as a result of what they learned.

The course teaches proven driving techniques to help keep you and your loved ones safe on the road.

Refreshing your driving skills may also help you save on your automobile insurance. Consult your agent for details.

The cost is $15 for AARP members; $20 for nonmembers. Please bring your driver’s license and AARP card to class.
