When someone in your life dies, you are faced with the difficult, but important, need to mourn.

Milward Funeral Directors and Hospice of the Bluegrass is sponsoring an evening program featuring Dr. Alan D. Wolfelt, author, educator, and grief counselor.

“Healing Your Grieving Heart: Exploring Practical Touchstones for Caring for Yourself,” will be held at 7 p.m., Nov. 10 at the Celebration Center of Lexington, 1509 Trent Boulevard.

Dr. Wolfelt will share his compassionate messages about healing in grief—based on his own personal losses as well as his experience supporting children, teens, adults, and families over the last three decades. He speaks not only to the intellect, but also to the hearts of all who hear him. Perhaps best known for his model of “companioning” versus “treating” mourners, Dr. Wolfelt is committed to helping people mourn well so they can live well and love well. He is the founder and director of the Center for Loss and Life Transition in Fort Collins, Co.
