AARP members and non members are invited to a free screening of BLACKkKlansman, the Spike Lee movie that’s nominated for six Academy Awards and four AARP Movies for Grownup Awards.
The showing will take place at 7 p.m., Feb. 28 at the Regal Hamburg Pavilion Stadium 16 IMAX & RPX theatre, 1949 Star Shoot Pkwy, Lexington.
From visionary filmmaker Spike Lee comes the incredible true story of an American hero. It’s the early 1970s, and Ron Stallworth is the first black detective to serve in the Colorado Springs Police Department. Determined to make a name for himself, Stallworth bravely sets out on a dangerous mission: infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan.
The movie is rated R for language throughout, including racial epithets, and for disturbing/violent material and some sexual references.
