Even wanted to be on the field at the University of Kentucky?

The 2019 Walk to End Alzheimer’s is taking place at in a new location on Kroger Field, home of the University of Kentucky football wildcats, on Sept. 21.

The field is located at 1540 University Drive on the University of Kentucky campus.

Registration starts at 9 a.m., with a ceremony scheduled for 9:45 a.m. and the walk beginning at 10 a.m.

As of early September, 631 participants had registered and 129 teams were planning to participate.

More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s and by 2050 that number is expected to be 14 million. The cost of caring for those with Alzheimer’s and other dementia illnesses in 2019 is estimated to be $290 billion. Nearly one in every three seniors who dies each year has Alzheimer’s or another dementia, according to the Alzheimer’s Association.
