There’s nothing like being in your own home as you age. But for many seniors, the home they love is just not safe with too many stairs, lots of rugs, bathtubs that they have to step into and clutter.
But, there are simple low cost improvements that can be made that will improve the safety in their home.
A free “building independence” educational seminar is taking place from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26 at the Lexington Senior Center, 195 Life Lane.
The class is designed to teach senior adults low costs ways to improve their home to keep them safe and independent. Easy adaptations are possible so seniors can stay in their homes safely.
Refreshments and gift bags are available to all who pre-register. You can do that at the front desk at the Lexington Senior Center.
If you require an accommodation – such as sign language interpretation or a listening device – please let the center know by July 12.
