Was one of your new year’s resolution to get more exercise? It can still come true with some new classes at the Lexington Senior Center.
Several new exercise classes began earlier this year and you can still join.
Here’s what’s new:
Walking for Better Balance
Join others in the multipurpose room to walk and practice techniques for better balance. All levels welcome. Join in anytime Monday through Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:20 a.m.
Friday Fitness Bingo!
Join others for 45 minutes of Bingo with a fitness flair! Instead of calling numbers,we will be calling basic, easy to do movements. Prizes given. All levels are welcome. Fridays at 9:30 a.m.
Let’s dance and have fun all while seated. Similar to Zumba but participants will sit for the entire class. Wednesdays 12:30 p.m.
Strong Core-Better Back
Spend 40 minutes focusing on movement that strengthens and stretches the core muscle groups. Bring your mat. Meets in the second floor conference room. Mondays 12:45 p.m.
Spend 30 minutes of strengthening the abdominals,back and butt. We may be on the floor at times in this class. Thursdays, 9 a.m.
Get 30 minutes of heart rate work. This is a 100 percent standing and moving class. Challenge your cardiovascular system. Thursdays, 8:30 a.m.
Better Balance Basics Bootcamp!
Learn tips to assist you with better balance and practice in a safe environment. We will work through four stations that challenge your balance in different ways. You must be able to walk unassisted to attend.
