Those living in nursing care who are lonely this holiday season are getting some help from the 11th annual “Silver Bells” holiday giving program organized by the Nursing Home Ombudsman Agency of the Bluegrass.

You can help the organization provide Christmas gifts for the most lonely, needy residents of long-term care facilities in Central Kentucky.

You can support the drive by:

(1) Bringing new, unwrapped non-skid socks, individually-wrapped snacks, word search and puzzle books, fleece blankets, and adult coloring books, coloring pencils, and pencil sharpeners to the NHOA office during business hours through Friday, Dec. 13. The offices are located at 3138 Custer Drive, Suite 110, Lexington, Ky. 40517

(2) Making a charitable contribution to ensure there are enough gifts to go around and to grant special wishes. Every resident will receive $25 worth of goodies. You can make your gift online by clicking the donate button on the orgaization’s website. Please mail paper and electronic checks payable to NHOA to the Custer Drive address.

For more information, call the NHOA office at (859) 277-9215.

The Nursing Home Ombudsman Agency of the Bluegrass provides advocacy services for free for residents in long-term care facilities.
