Election years are usually hectic, but nothing compares to this year’s election with a pandemic complicating voting.

Kentucky has expanded early voting starting October 13- November 2.

Registered voters can vote from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday – Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

In Lexington/Fayette County, you may vote at any of these locations:

Tates Creek Branch Library, 3628 Walden Dr.

Northside Branch Library, 1733 Russell Cave Road

Beaumont Branch Library, 3080 Fieldstone Way

Dunbar Center, 545 N. Upper St.

Lexington Senior Center, 195 Life Lane (behind Southland Christian Church on Richmond Road)

BCTC Leestown Campus, 164 Opportunity Way

Wellington Elementary, 3280 Keithshire Way

Garrett Morgan Elementary, 1150 Passage Mound Way

In-person on Election Day will take place from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the same locations. (You may vote at any location.)

What to bring: You will need to show photo ID, or be known personally by a precinct election officer, to vote in Kentucky.

Acceptable forms include: driver’s license; military ID; college ID; Kentucky government ID. If you don’t have a photo ID, you may obtain a free photo ID card at your circuit clerk’s office or one of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s regional offices.

If you cannot obtain a photo ID you may sign a “Reasonable Impediment Declaration” and present one of the following non-photo IDs: Social Security Card; any ID issued by a county in KY that’s been approved by the State Board of Elections and shows your name); any ID card with both the voter’s photograph and name; any food stamp ID card, electronic benefit transfer card, or supplemental nutrition assistance card issued by KY that shows voter’s name; or a credit or debit card that shows your name.

Voters without ID: If you are unable to provide ID, you will be able to vote a provisional ballot.

If you plan to vote in person, wear a mask, consider bringing hand sanitizer, and practice social distancing by standing six feet apart from your fellow voters. Read more recommendations for voters at cdc.gov.

Kentucky voters can also vote before Election Day. The early voting period runs from Tuesday, October 13, 2020 to Monday, November 2, 2020, but dates and hours may vary based on where you live.
