Two upcoming workshops help those helping others with Alzheimer’s

Dr. Greg Cooper and staff of the Alzheimer’s Association will present this program addresses the issues involved in caring for a person in the middle stages of Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia.

Specific topics covered include behavioral and role/relationship changes, medication, safety, and residential options.

This program will take place from 1-4 p.m., August 22 at the Lexington Public Library, Eastside Branch, 3000 Blake James Drive.

Dr. Kimberly Bell of Hospice of the Bluegrass, Baptist Health’s dietician, Fran Bevins, and staff of the Alzheimer’s Association will present a program for those caring for people in the late stage of Alzheimer’s disease. Professionals will share information about resources, monitoring care and providing meaningful connection for the person with late stage Alzheimer’s and their families.

This program will be held from 1-4 p.m. on August 29 at the Lexington Public Library, Eastside Branch, 3000 Blake James Drive.
