Effective July 1, 2016, the 2-1-1 Contact Center will receive the official designation of the Bluegrass Area Development District’s Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC).
An ADRC is responsible for providing assessment and critical information and referral to individuals with aging and independent living needs, making sure this population has access to resources in order to live their best lives.
ADRCs target those individuals or those taking care of individuals 60 years or older, as well as adults with physical or mental health disabilities. The mission of the ADRC closely aligns with the mission of our 2-1-1 Contact Center, making this a logical connection to best serve our community.
2-1-1 is an easy to remember, three-digit telephone number that connects people with important community services to meet every day needs and the immediate needs of people in crisis.
For example, 2-1-1 can offer access to: Aging and independently living care and assessments, housing prioritization assessment for homeless, affordable high quality child care/after-school care, counseling and support groups, health services, or basic need support, such as food and clothing.
With the ADRC designation, the 2-1-1 Contact Center will serve Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Estill, Fayette, Franklin, Garrard, Harrison, Jessamine, Lincoln, Madison, Mercer, Nicholas, Powell, Scott and Woodford counties.
