The AARP Smart Driver Safety Course will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., March 24 and April 21 at the Fayette County Extension Office, 1140 Red Mile Place. Taking the course could earn you a discount on your automobile insurance premiums for three to five years.
The course is offered in a classroom and is for drivers aged 50 and older. The course identifies many of the changes which occur as we age and suggest strategies for accommodating to those changes for safer driving.
There will be no exam. Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate which many car insurance agencies honor with a discount.
A small fee covers the course expense: $15 for AARP members; $20 for non-members.
Participants are invited to bring a snack or lunch.
Pre-register by calling the Fayette County Extension Office at 859-257-5582.
