Moving Day, an annual fundraising walk hosted by the Parkinson’s Foundation, is going virtual for the next three months.
The event gives participants a chance to speak up about Parkinson’s disease and move others to take action. Also, it is a movement for change toward more awareness, more funding, and more understanding of a disease that affects so many of our family and friends.
Due to the evolving situation with the coronavirus, all Moving Day events will not take place in person, but online.
The health and safety of Moving Day participants, volunteers, sponsors and staff is the Parkinson’s disease Foundation’s highest priority.
While participants will not be able to move together in-person, the good news is that The Lexington Area Parkinson’s Support Group will be moving together at Moving Day – Virtual Walk on Saturday, May 9.
To take part, register at https://movingdaywalk.org/ or visit the Lexington Area Parkinson’s Support Group at http://www.parkinsonslexington.com/
At 1 p.m., EST, on Saturday, May 9, you can tune in to the Parkinson’s Foundation Facebook page at https://www.Facebook.com/Parkinsondotorg to participate in the virtual event.
The annual fundraising walk is a fun and inspiring fundraising event that unites families, friends and communities both large and small in the fight against Parkinson’s disease.
